Rochester In Focus: Inclusive theatre company changes leadership

By Emily Putnam

Grey Noise Theatre Co. was founded by transgender theatre artist Jace Meyer-Crosby and his partner Ben back in 2017. They set out with the goal of creating a safe, inclusive space to uplift marginalized voices.

Now, as our country navigates an increasingly turbulent political climate, Grey Noise is changing leadership. Jace is stepping out of his role as artistic director, and Hector Manuel is stepping in.

Hector says his main goals for the company going forward will be to create a new culture of accountability within the Rochester theatre community, and to continue to foster an open, inclusive, and creative environment for underrepresented groups. On July 15 at 6 p.m. Grey Noise will host a virtual community forum called The Diversity Dialogues: BIPOC in Rochester Theatre. Register here
